conferming what I already knew.

I am an advocate against hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial soap/ cleaning products. I have been since day one. (I'm not against hygiene, lets get that clear.)
I won't be overdosing the kids on Neosporin, scars are cool. Maybe coddling isn't in my design. I have been in many an argument over this lifestyle choice. Understandable, certain places do call for good and proper sterilization, such as hospitals & other medical facility's, restaurants, but not my homestead.

Reading an article about rising childhood food allergies I felt a sense of validation for my "neglectful attitude."

"The popular "hygiene hypothesis," which posits that growing up in a sparkling-clean environment doesn't allow a child's immune system to properly develop. Modern medicine and sanitation have eliminated many infectious diseases but have also limited a child's exposure to immune system-building bacteria, which may ultimately protect a child against allergies, obesity, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune diseases."
I won.
